THE ART OF NOSTALGIA

THE ARTIST

Before there was photography, there was commercial illustration. Bright and bold, artists and ad executives conjured fantastical landscapes, ski-scapes, and an improbable number of human-sized champagne bottles.

For Aspen Posters, artist David Stillman Meyer is making fresh tracks in that wonderfully old-fashioned way. Meyer is an illustrator, designer, writer, and filmmaker based in New York City. His Aspen story began with his grandparents, who honeymooned there in 1944 and became part-time residents from 1950 to 2005.

Though Meyer lived in Aspen from 2016 to 2019, the Big Apple remains his home base. An award-winning creative director, he has refined his illustrative style over the years and is just getting started.
